Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia has been offered to Fulham, according to claims from the Portuguese press today.

As written by newspaper Record, the player is currently negotiating with a couple of clubs as he’s a free agent.

Battaglia is one of the many players who rescinded their contracts with Sporting at the end of the last season due to the attacks on players at the club’s Alcochete Training Center.

Now he’s currently negotiating a new contract with the club, partly because the former president Bruno de Carvalho has been voted out.

But Sporting are not very confident they can get to a deal, and that’s why they are already working on a replacement, who would be Braga’s Nikola Vukcevic.

Speaking of his possible destinations, only Fulham are named, as it’s said he’s been offered to the club.

Although Battaglia is a technicaly a free agent, Fulham will probably have to agree a fee with Sporting, otherwise they will be reported to FIFA by the Lisbon side. That’s what happened with Wolves and Atletico Madrid for the transfers of Rui Patrício and Gelson Martins.
