It was also stated Antonio Conte is among the favourites to replace the former Wolves boss at the north London club.
The Premier League side have now confirmed Nuno Espírito Santo and his backroom staff have been relieved from their duties and ‘a further coaching update will follow in due course’.
Spurs appointing Nuno’s successor may not take long as TuttoMercatoWeb reported Antonio Conte could take the vacant job at the English capital club in the coming hours.
Sky Italia back it up, stating the Premier League side are ‘close’ to finding an agreement with the 52-year-old. It’s said the ‘last details’ needs to be defined.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà took to Twitter to report ‘closure expected today’ to take Conte to Tottenham. A ‘private flight is ready’ to take the former Chelsea manager to London, if the ‘final details’ of the agreement is sorted out.
Sport Mediaset are also reporting Conte ‘will reach London by private jet in hours’. The deal is expected to go through so soon that the outlet suggest the Italian should take his first training session tomorrow.
It’s said Fabio Paratici started fresh talks with the coach, who, having snubbed Tottenham in the summer, should now say yes to them.
Conte has asked for a guarantee of an important technical and economic project. There is a talk of an 18-month contract worth €15m per season.
In addition to this, the Serie A winning coach has also asked for the guaranteed signing of three to four players in the winter market.
La Stampa have now joined several other Italian outlets to state Conte will be the next Spurs manager.
They say ‘Conte is the new coach of Tottenham’ and now only the official announcement is missing.
