Since Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici landed in Italy this week, we’ve lost count of the many transfer stories the local media has been having about Spurs, both regarding arrivals and departures at the London side.
Now as Calcio Mercato features a piece about AS Roma youngster Nicola Zalewski, we must admit we’ve raised an eyebrow when reading what they have to say about this chase.
The outlet claims that Tottenham manager Antonio Conte ‘is literally crazy’ for the youngster, and is ‘in love with this boy’s football so much that he asked Paratici to try and catch him’.
There’s no offer from Spurs, though, who are just one of the clubs who keep an eye on the player. Calcio Mercato say he already had an approach from PSG, which was ‘returned to sender’, and there’s also been contacts from Sampdoria and Cagliari, who wanted him on loan.
Roma are said to be very focused on keeping him, with José Mourinho now making the youngster an important player in the squad. It was the Special One who put him out on the wing, and as written by the outlet, that new position made him the ‘perfect identikit for Conte’s game’.
