Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League. The Italian international was reportedly subject of a bid from Manchester City during the summer transfer window, but opted to stay at the Serie A club.
Reports also suggest Bonucci is negotiating a new contract at Juventus, but that hasn’t stopped the Italian media from linking him with a move to the Premier League.
According to Italian website Calciomercato.it, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is also keen on a reunion with Bonucci at Stamford Bridge. Calciomercato say Conte believes Bonucci could solve his defensive problems at Chelsea.
It’s reported Bonucci could cost Chelsea as much as €58m in January, whilst Manchester City could also launch a bid for the Italian defender during the winter transfer window.
It’s very unlikely Juventus will want to part ways with Bonucci in the middle of the season, and the player himself doesn’t seem like he’s keen on a transfer.
Bonucci would improve Chelsea’s defence, so it’s no shock that Conte believes he’d be a good signing, but it just doesn’t appear to be a realistic prospect.
