With the future of Dimitri Payet still in the balance, Sofiane Feghouli’s exit might be something West Ham will need to reconsider.
The Algerian international, said to be in talks regarding a loan move to Roma, could be sorely needed in order to create and score for the Hammers in the second half of the season, and his transfer to Italy is currently on hold.
Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday explain the Serie A side are still waiting for an answer from West Ham regarding the loan, which is said to be expected in the next 48 hours.
Reports in Italy from the past few days suggest Feghouli and the Italian side have already reached an agreement regarding personal terms, and all that’s left is West Ham’s nod to signal the go ahead.
The 27-year-old has told Slaven Bilic he wants the move to Italy, but, as the saying goes, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
West Ham need to keep their best players if they are to avoid dropping further and further down the table, and even if Feghouli hasn’t played all that much, or impressed, since the start of the season, he’s one of the few in the squad capable of producing the spark that will be lacking in Payet’s absence.
