Giuseppe Bellusci’s agent may have spoken to Greek side PAOK, and those talks may have gone well, at least according to the Italian media, but it’s an open secret the Leeds United defender’s first choice would be a return to Italy.
Linked with a string of Italian clubs, Bellusci spent last season loan at Empoli, but they were relegated to Serie B so weren’t able to use their buyout clause with Leeds.
TMW report on Friday that Cremonese have now come into the situation strongly, which would be a new alternative to PAOK, with interest from other Italian clubs being present but at arm’s length.
Bellusci’s problem is that Cremonese are a Serie B side, promoted last year from Lega Pro, so probably wouldn’t be the status of club he’s looking for. There’s every chance Bellusci will give the situation as long as possible, to allow other Italian sides to come in.
