Besiktas are chasing their former player Ersan Gülüm who’s now playing his trade at Chinese Super League with Hebei China Fortune.
It’s been widely reported in the Turkish media Besiktas are willing to sign their former defender on an 18-month deal, and talks are at advanced stage. Fotomaç report negotiations between the two clubs are dragging on right now, because Hebei China Fortune may now have to keep hold of Ersan.
It’s understood Hebei China Fortune are chasing Southampton’s Japanese centre back Maya Yoshida, and they’ll only let Ersan leave if they sign the Japan international. Southampton have already lost one of their key players to the Chinese Super League when Graziano Pellè joined Shandong Luneng in the summer.
Last night Yoshida started Southampton’s EFL Cup clash with Liverpool, and was impressive with his central defence partner Virgil van Dijk.
With Jose Fonte’s future up in the air it seems almost certain the Southampton captain will leave the club.
Subsequently it makes no sense for Southampton to sell Yoshida unless they receive a great offer and are able to replace him.
