Crystal Palace have tabled a bid for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji, according to claims in the Belgian media.
Mbodji has been linked with a move to the Premier League repeatedly in this transfer window, with Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton all showing an interest.
HLN have reported this morning Crystal Palace have offered Anderlecht €12m to sign the central defender before today’s deadline. Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce has been keen to bolster his defensive options in this transfer window after the issues they’ve had at the back this season.
However, Anderlecht have rejected Crystal Palace’s first offer, and the Premier League side will now have to increase their bid in order to land Mbodji.
Earlier today we covered more reports from Belgium that Anderlecht could listen to bids in the region of €15m for the Senegal international.
Leicester City have had two offers rejected, the latest €10.5m, which were well below Anderlecht’s valuation of the player, and unless Crystal Palace are prepared to increase their initial bid by arounf €3m, Mbodji’s dream of playing in the Premier League is likely to be put on hold.
