Fulham manager Marco Silva is in the running for the Tottenham Hotspur job.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, and he claims Spurs have the Fulham boss ‘first on the list’ if they decide to look for a new manager.
Tottenham have endured a difficult run in the league under Ange Postecoglou’s orders, collecting 38 points from 35 games. Fulham have 51 points and are 11th in the table, two points behind eighth placed AFC Bournemouth.
On Thursday, the north London club overcame Norwegian side FK Bodø/Glimt to secure a place in the Europa League final against Manchester United. The Red Devils have also struggled in the league and, like Spurs, will be looking at the Europa League as a way to qualify for the Champions League and put a different footnote on their season.
Di Marzio indicates Postecoglou needs to beat Manchester United in the final to save his job. If not, Tottenham could look for a new manager and the Fulham coach is their main target.
Marseille’s Roberto De Zerbi and AFC Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola are also on their list, but Silva is the one ‘most liked’ by Tottenham. They believe there’s better chances of bringing the former Watford boss than the two other targets.
Al-Hilal are also showing interest in Silva, although he wants to stay in England. At this point in time, the 47-year-old wants to focus on finishing this season with Fulham.
