Italy’s TMW are reporting on Monday afternoon that Leeds United have submitted a big offer for Andrea Petagna.
The 24 year old currently plays for SPAL as a striker, having moved to the club in 2018 from Atalanta. The transfer was initially on a loan basis, with SPAL having a compulsory option to make the deal permanent this summer.
TMW report Leeds have submitted a €15m offer for the player, which would be a huge amount for the Championship club. However, despite that, it’s explained the amount won’t be enough for SPAL, with them valuing the player at something closer to €25m.
That would of course be out of the range of Marcelo Bielsa’s side, so if there’s no major compromise to be had then it’s doubtful this one could really get off the ground.
There’s no indication on what the player himself would think of a move to the Yorkshire club.
Last season he scored 17 goals in 37 matches for the Serie A club.
