In the winter market, Crystal Palace signed Michy Batshuayi on a short-term loan deal from Chelsea.

Roy Hodgson has already stressed his side will make an effort to sign him again, if provided with an opportunity.

“All I know is that if Michy is available again and if our club can get him, either in the form of a loan or by permanent transfer, then I will be very happy. I know that Michy would be happy too. But that does not depend on us,” the manager said.

DH in Belgium explain that financially and sporting wise, the Eagles will have ‘difficulty’ in signing the player.

So far, Maurizio Sarri’s side are yet to take a clear stance on Batshuayi as the future of Olivier Giroud and Gonzalo Higuain remains uncertain and they are also banned from making new additions in the summer.

Crystal Palace will not be an ‘attractive’ destination for the 25-year-old and his asking price of €40m also makes it difficult for the Selhurst Park club.
