Moussa Djenepo has impressed for Standard Liège this season, scoring 11 goals and registering six assists in 38 matches across all competitions.
Le Soir in Belgium reported on Monday the 20-year-old’s performances for the Jupiler Pro League side have seen Southampton submit a €23.5m offer to secure the services of the Mali international.
Another Belgian publication, Het Belang van Limburg, brings the latest update on the reported ‘monster bid’ from Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side.
It’s claimed that everyone at Standard Liège is denying having received an offer from Southampton.
HBVL further explains another English club made a €12m offer for Djenepo in the past, which was turned down by his employer, but there is no name attached.
Djenepo initially joined Standard Liège on loan from Malian side Yeelen Olympique in January 2017 and the transfer was made permanent the same summer.
In April 2018, he signed a new deal, but there are no further details as to when Djenepo’s current deal will expire.
