West Ham United are now considered one of the main contenders for the signing of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic in the summer.
As reported today by Calcio Mercato, the 23-year-old should be sold by La Viola this summer, since he only has one more year of contract and doesn’t seem keen on staying.
When speaking of the clubs who now seem to be leading the race for the signing, the website says the two of them come from the Premier League. That’s Manchester United and West Ham.
Speaking of the Hammers, the outlet writes that David Moyes’ side are now ‘ambitious’ and ‘ready to compete’ at a high level in the Premier League.
Besides those who are leading the race, there’s also some interest from clubs such as Everton, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Milan, with the Italian sides being less likely to compete due to financial reasons.
Milenkovic’s contract situation means he has his ‘bags in hands’, so it should be just a matter of who will convince Fiorentina over an agreement first. Calcio Mercato says the Serie A side hope they can make around €30m with the defender’s departure.
