Bournemouth summer signing Milos Kerkez has been backed to be a big hit in the Premier League by former teammate Mat Ryan.
The goalkeeper has been speaking to the media after the recent pre-season friendly with Norwich City, when the subject of Kerkez was brought up.
He joined Bournemouth in a €17.87m deal from AZ Alkmaar last week, continuing his rapid rise up since leaving AC Milan’s U19’s in January last year.
He’s been starring for Alkmaar since then and earned himself admirers around Europe as a result, so much so that Bournemouth have moved for him this summer.
Indeed, unless things change in the coming weeks the youngster is set to be their starting left-back next season given he’s the only recognised player in that position in Bournemouth’s squad at present.
That’s a big challenge for a 19-year-old in his first season in the Premier League, which is a major step up from life in the Eredivisie.
However, Ryan, who has plenty of experience of life in England himself after spells at Brighton and Arsenal, is sure the youngster will shine on the south coast.
“Milos is a great boy. A crazy dude, in a good way. He is always positive and smiling,” Soccer News report him saying.
“Hopefully he can develop even further in England and become even more mature. He is aggressive, powerful and has so many qualities.
“A unique skill set. Bournemouth is going to get stronger because of him. Milos still has a great career ahead of him.”
