All around the globe, there are many players who dream of playing for Manchester United at one point in their career, and Youssouph Cheikh Sylla is no different.

The 26-year-old signed for Perugia in Serie C early in January from Vis Pesaro in a €70k transfer, already scoring three goals and two assists in eight games for them.

The towering striker, who stands at 1.96m tall, had a chat with Quotidiano Sportivo about his career, including his ambitions about donning Manchester United’s shirt at one point in his time as a player.

Originally from Senegal, the forward explained he misses Africa a lot, especially being so far from his family, his friends, as well as the heat and the food.

However, his dreams keep him going: “In football, I want to go as high as possible. I would like to play for Manchester United one day. You always have to believe in dreams because they help you make sacrifices.”

Whether Sylla does manage to play for Manchester United before he hangs up his boots remains to be seen, but there is a long way for him to go.

Already 26 years of age, he would have to make some big steps in the next few years to stand a chance, but crazier things have happened in the world of football.
