Former Leeds United academy scout Jakub Bokiej has told the Polish media how his move to Manchester City came about, and that he couldn’t turn down the Premier League side.
The Pole recently left his position at Leeds United.
Speaking to IGol, Bokieji was asked how his move from Leeds United to Manchester City came about: “Yes, in order to develop the “Polish Football Academy” project, personally I have to take steps forward, clubs like Manchester City you simply can’t refuse, we quickly found a common language, and the proposal was satisfactory enough that we agreed in 48 hours.
“It is also a tremendous leap, seeing how it works at City, and what the conditions are for the job.”
During his time at Leeds United, Bokieji helped to develop the youth academy, which included preparing youngsters to play at the highest level.
Despite exiting Elland Road, Bokieji speaks well about his former club, describing Leeds United as having great history and tradition, but the Premier League step up was too much of a temptation.
The Manchester City man also said whilst at Leeds United the club were super professional in the way they went about things, and that they are one of the leaders in the UK in youth training.
