Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Ki Jana Hoever has hinted he could end up at PSV Eindhoven permanently, even if his loan deal doesn’t include a purchase option.

The full-back joined the Dutch side on loan until the end of the season towards the end of last month.

He has been shipped out by Wolves to get the game time that hasn’t been on offer at Molineux since his arrival from Liverpool two years ago.

The 20-year-old has only managed 20 appearances for Wolves since moving from Anfield, struggling to get beyond Nelson Semedo in the first-team picture.

He’s thus returned to the Netherlands on a temporary basis with PSV, where he could be the first-choice right-back for this season at least.

Interestingly the deal does not include an option for the Eredivisie side to make the move a permanent one, but Hoever has hinted there are other clauses included in the contract instead.

“The clubs have completed it quite quickly,” he told Voetbal International.

“Without an option to buy, otherwise, it would probably have taken too long. Whether that is a pity? There are also other things in the contract.

“For me, it’s important that I have a good year, and then I’ll see what’s possible. I just have to show it. I’m enjoying myself here so far.

“I stood on the training pitch with the big boys every day and sat in the dressing room. Of course, I would have liked to succeed at Liverpool. In principle, that is still possible. I hope to play football for another fifteen years or so, so who knows.”
