According to a claim in the Swedish media, IFK Goteborg are interested in Bradford City defender Thomas Isherwood.

The 20 year old only joined the League One side in the last summer transfer window, but he’s struggled to get games.

Expressen today report IFK are looking to sign Isherwood and Bradford City could let the youngster leave on a free transfer. The Swedish side are looking to strengthen their squad before the Allsvenskan season begins in March.

IFK head coach Poya Asbaghi has been quizzed by Expressen about bringing in the Swede but he refused to give anything away at this stage: “I can’t say anything.”

Isherwood signed for Bradford City on a free transfer from Bayern Munich and signed a two year contract. However, the central defender has played just three games for the Yorkshire side and may need to move on in this window to get first team football elsewhere.

The player started his career with IF Brommapojkarna.
