Last week confidence was building in the German media, from Bild specifically, that Borussia Dortmund could sign Erling Braut Haaland in the January transfer window.

It was reported the player and his agent had travelled to both Dortmund and Leipzig last week and held talks with the clubs there.

On Friday it was then claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had personally flown out for talks with people close to the RB Salzburg player, putting the case over for joining Manchester United.

Quizzed on Sunday after the 1-1 draw with Everton, Solskjaer insinuated Haaland knows what he wants to so, which set more speculation off.

In Germany, the confidence on behalf of Dortmund is beginning to wobble, at least a little. Bild state there’s now ‘Alarm’ at BVB as Manchester United could ‘snatch’ the signing from their clutches.

The 19 year old is also of interest to RB Leipzig, and Solskjaer involvement is worrying them too.

Bild say the player’s options for a transfer are: Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Juventus.

Red Bull Salzburg would also like to keep hold of him.

Despite all of that, Bild state, according to their own information, that United isn’t currently the player’s first choice.

There could be some bias in that.
