Samuel Umtiti hasn’t been in the news so much since the transfer circus moved on to another town.
The defender has been getting on with his job quietly, winning the World Cup, and further cementing himself in Ernesto Valverde’s team.
With Gerard Pique not being in the best of form, perhaps distracted by his business plans off the pitch, Umtiti is increasingly key for Barcelona’s plans this season.
And now there’s there’s some bad news.
They call it very bad news and it’s claimed the footballer has torn a ligament in his left knee. Such an injury is expected to keep Umtiti out of the Barcelona team for several months.
This isn’t being treated as speculation, but rather as fact, and it’s going to cause serious concern for Valverde going forward, especially when Barcelona face tougher opposition.
