After a 2-0 defeat in El Clásico on Sunday, Barcelona would have been hoping for a quiet week of reflection.
The plan would have been for Quique Setién to get his players together, work on the training pitch and attempt to turn around their form and get back on track.
Fate, though, has decided that will not be the case for the Barça boss and taken another player away from him.
Sport report that midfielder Arthur has joined the growing injury list at the Nou Camp, which already includes Luis Suárez, Ousmane Dembélé and Sergi Roberto.
According to the newspaper, the Brazilian missed training with a ‘discomfort’ in his right ankle, which he initially injury in training last Thursday.
He has now been taken off the list of players available for the clash with Real Sociedad and is now ‘in the hands’ of Dr Ramón Cugat, who will decide on the best course of treatment for him.
The injury will come as a significant blow for Barcelona, and particularly Setién, with Sport even describing it as a setback for the under-pressure coach.
The extent of Artur’s injury isn’t mentioned, but they will be hoping it is only a minor issue, with La Liga and the Champions League still to fight for and him likely to be a key part.
