Liverpool have done well to sell a few players in the transfer window, but reports suggest they still want to offload Christian Benteke, Mario Balotelli, and Lucas Leiva.

They might find suitors for Benteke and Leiva eventually, but Balotelli is proving to be a bit difficult to ship out.

Yesterday, Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio reported Mino Raiola has been offering Balotelli to several clubs.

Napoli have refused to sign the Italian striker, as they’ve other targets, but a transfer to Ajax could be possible should they make the Champions League group stages.

Many found it a bit difficult to believe Ajax would be interested in Balotelli, but those reports have been confirmed by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf on Saturday.

De Telegraaf claim Ajax have been interested in signing Balotelli for a long time now, and that a phone call with Mino Raiola took place recently.

Marc Overmars, director of football, asked Raiola about the situation of Balotelli, and the feasibility of any potential deal.

It is reported a phone call to Raiola doesn’t show Ajax have a huge interest in Balotelli, and a transfer would depend on many factors.

De Telegraaf say ‘Ajax plays chess on multiple boards and currently has other targets’.

It remains to be seen how this develops in the upcoming days because anything related to Balotelli is usually a bit complicated.
