If you thought the Marouane Fellaini clusterfudgicle was about to end with reported discussions with Arsenal, you were very wrong.

We have Calciomercato.it to thank for this, by the way, as they report on Wednesday that Ajax are very interested in the Belgium international.

In fact, Fellaini’s entourage are said to have already met with the Dutch club and visited their training facilities, but the Eredivisie runners-up are yet to make an official offer.

That doesn’t mean Ajax should be ruled out, since there is ‘concrete’ interest from them, but the Italian website maintain that their chances of signing the Manchester United player are slimmer than Arsenal’s.

As things stand, Milan isn’t a viable option until the end of the month because of their current FFP status, leaving China, Arsenal and Turkey (where Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are all said to be interested) as the more viable options for Fellaini these days.

Paris Saint-Germain were also mentioned for a while, but that appeared to stem from an Unai Emery preference, hence the sudden interest from the Gunners.
