Monday was a promising day for Tanguy Ndombélé and Tottenham in their efforts to find the Frenchman a new club.
It was said the midfielder was edging closer to a move to Napoli, even if the Serie A side were being a bit cheap when it came to paying the player’s wages.
Still, we’ve had very little when it comes to the nature of the potential deal taking Ndombélé from Tottenham to Naples, but Sky Italia gives us some information on that front on Tuesday.
They explain Napoli are currently ‘closing’ the negotiations that are seeing them ‘working’ with Spurs to get the midfielder to the south of Italy.
In fact, it’s said ‘an agreement for a paid loan of €1m and an option to buy of €30m is near’.
That gives you an idea of how much Ndombélé’s stock has fallen over the years when taking into account the fact Tottenham paid around €60m for him in 2019.
With three years left on his contract at Spurs, you would expect the club to want more than half of what they initially paid for him.
However, having failed to impress under José Mourinho, Nuno Espírito Santo and now Antonio Conte, it’s clear Daniel Levy just wants rid.
