Earlier today, Calciomercato reported Arsenal’s pursuit of Riccardo Calafiori is not at risk and that the deal could be unblocked at any moment.

It was also stated the Gunners are sorting out the fixed fee, bonuses, payment method and the percentage on the future sale with Bologna, who are demanding €50m for their star.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio now claims Arsenal continue to negotiate with the Serie A side as an ‘agreement is being sought’ for the defender.

He points out Bologna are requesting €50m plus bonuses and adds that the north London club are offering €50m, without specifying whether or not it includes bonuses.

Calafiori’s agent Alessandro Lucci is working to close the gap between Bologna and Mikel Arteta’s side, to find the ‘right compromise’ to take his client to the Emirates.

The centre-back’s fine displays for Italy at the Euros have convinced the Premier League side to bet on him. He has also managed to attract interest from other clubs, including Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea.

Arsenal have managed to take the lead and Di Marzio claims they are ‘about to prevail’ in the race to sign the Italy international.
