Clearly in search of a winger for the new season, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is about to get his man at Rangers FC.
While there were rumours of an interest in Theo Bongonda, it’s actually Rabbi Matondo, who is contracted to Schalke 04, who will be moving to Ibrox.
That’s according to Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger, who took to Twitter to announced that there has been an ‘agreement reached!’.
He then goes into more detail about the soon-to-be Rangers signing, stated the ‘Welsh winger completed medicals in Manchester and has agreed personal terms with the Scottish side’.
Agreement reached! Rabbi Matondo joins Glasgow Rangers. The Welsh winger completed medicals in Manchester and agreed on personal terms with the Scottish side. Only paperwork need to be done. Official announcement soon. @SPORT1 https://t.co/B1EOtPpgYh

At this point, there is ‘only paperwork’ that needs to be done, and Berger believes we can expect an ‘official announcement soon’.
The right winger spent last season on loan at Cercle Brugge, where he made 27 appearances, scoring 10 goals and two assists, which clearly caught the eye of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s scouts at Rangers, and ultimately decided to bring him to Ibrox for the new campaign.
