Touted as a potential target for Milan this summer, Olivier Giroud’s future will indeed be at San Siro.
That’s according to Milan News 24, who report on Thursday afternoon that an ‘agreement has been reached’ between the Chelsea striker and the Serie A side.
The website, according to their own information, explain that the player’s entourage, who will be dealing with this as the Blues striker focuses on the upcoming Champions League final, and Milan have decided on the contract terms.
Giroud, whose deal at Stamford Bridge expires in June, ‘will arrive on a free’ and has agreed to a two-year deal worth €3.5m/season plus bonus.
Expected to be backup to Zlatan Ibrahimović, the goalscorer will more likely than not be a rotational option, pushing the Swede to his limits.
Giroud ‘will arrive after the Champions League final’, and has already ‘started looking for a house in Milan’.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2018, the forward has made 119 appearances, scored 39 goals and assisted another 14.
