The Italian media seems to have no doubt that Chelsea is leading the race to sign Napoli star Victor Osimhen this summer.
On Wednesday, we had already seen local reports saying the player is favouring a move to the Premier League, making the Blues the favourites for his signing.
What Chelsea need to focus on is finding agreement with Napoli for the transfer, and AreaNapoli now bring some interesting claims in that regard.
“As for the transfer chapter, Chelsea want Victor Osimhen, who will leave Napoli at the end of the season, more and more. The Blues want to negotiate the terms of the release clause and it cannot be ruled out that the English club will try to include players such as Casadei or David Fofana in the negotiation to lower the price, although Napoli are not open to negotiating the price and are only asking for cash. With Victor a personal agreement is not so far away and the parties will continue talking in the coming weeks.”
Napoli are said to be demanding €120m to let Osimhen leave this summer, so including a couple of players to bring down that price might be a smart move, as long as the Serie A side are actually interested in those counterparts.
It also remains to be seen the weight that the striker’s wish to move to the Premier League will have once the Italian club actually start negotiating with other interesting parties.
