AS Roma are nearing an agreement to sign West Ham United winger Sofiane Feghouli, according to claims in Italy. It’s claimed Roma have held recent talks with West Ham and now it seems a breakthrough has been made.
Il Messaggero have today reported Feghouli looks to be on his way to Roma after just six months at West Ham. The Algerian has found himself struggling to get into Slaven Bilic’s starting eleven since he arrived from Valencia, and it looks they are prepared to offload him in this window.
The Italian newspaper have revealed Feghouli will initially go on loan to Roma with a right of redemption of up €9m. Roma have also agreed on Feghouli’s salary which is reported to be €2m a year. The move has yet to be made official and his agent will continue to discuss the fine details with Roma and West Ham.
Roma officials recently travelled to London to hold discussions with West Ham as the Italian side look to bring in a forward in this window. The Algerian international only joined West Ham in the last transfer window, but has failed to make an impact since his arrival in England.
The claims are similar to others from Gazzetta dello Sport on Saturday. Interestingly, West Ham scouted Benfica on Saturday night and Salvio, who has repeatedly been linked with a move to England, plays in a similar position to Feghouli.
