Former Trabzonspor president Muharrem Usta has reportedly agreed a deal with an unnamed English club for the sale of Ogenyi Onazi, report Fotospor.

The Nigerian was linked with a move to Birmingham City last summer, but the deal collapsed at the last minute.

According to Fotospor, Usta has told new president Ahmet Agaoglu that he’s agreed deals to sell a number of players due to the Turkish side’s financial issues, including Onazi.

The Turkish newspaper say Usta has accepted a €3.5m offer from an English club for Onazi, and the new board at Trabzonspor are now ready to discuss this.

Last summer we covered reports from the Turkish press last summer that Birmingham City were looking to sign Onazi, but the transfer never materialised because of work permit issues. A fee had reportedly been agreed with the Championship side.

Birmingham City or other English clubs may show an interest in Onazi this summer, and this time Trabzonspor could be keen to sell due to their financial crisis.
