Despite being so very close to signing for Napoli, Victor Osimhen still hasn’t completed his move to the south of Italy from Lille, leaving the door open for some Premier League interest to swoop in.

At least, that’s what his new agent is doing, as William D’Avila appears to be the one stalling, knowing full well his client could get better wages on this side of the Channel.

Liverpool have been the most prominent name over the past week, with their interest widely pushed by Ciro Venerato, but Manchester United are also in the mix, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian newspaper look at the Nigeria international’s situation and reveal that D’Avila is ‘taking his time’, as he wants to ‘wait for the Premier League to finish’.

The reason for this is once the league comes to an end, clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester United will be more willing to sort out transfers, seeing as their current attention is turned towards the pitch rather than the transfer market.

The one problem for D’Avila, however, is that the clubs led by Jürgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently have a lot of attacking power at their disposal, and it would be hard to get them to guarantee Osimhen the regular game time he will likely want.

Still, it’s worth a try and Tuttosport reckon this should all come to an end next week one way or another, as the Premier League draws to a close on Sunday.

Until then, it seems we just have to wait.
