Both Catalan sport newspapers go big on Coutinho to Barcelona in their Thursday editions, but Sport sound the more confident.
With a front page screaming out it’s now D-Day for Coutinho’s transfer, Sport explain the player’s agents are travelling to Europe with the aim of completing an agreement and closing the transfer.
Coutinho’s people will meet Liverpool on January 3rd for a summit, according to the Catalan newspaper, and this will see ‘decisive’ talks.
Sport say the Brazilian’s agents have been working diligently since the summer, trying to make sure the transfer happens, and it’s reiterated that personal terms are already agreed.
Sport now believe Liverpool are demanding €140m, and whilst there’s no possible reduction’ on that price, it’s explained the Anfield club will accept the fee in several payments.
Coutinho is once again said to have an assurance from Liverpool that he can leave for Barcelona, and it’s the player’s will which is being held aloft as the biggest factor in getting a move close to happening.
