Tanguy Ndombele continues to struggle to fulfil the potential which made Tottenham sign him from Lyon in July 2019.
Prior to his move to Spurs, the midfielder had been linked with some of the biggest clubs around Europe, it was felt that Tottenham had pushed ahead of others and got themselves a good deal.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone to plan, and Ndombele’s situation has even taken a downturn from last season. During the last campaign, largely under the orders of Jose Mourinho, the 25-year-old made 46 appearances.
Since Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo this season, the player has struggled to get minutes.
Corriere dello Sport report the player’s agents have offered him to AS Roma, where he’d reunite with Mourinho. Although the two didn’t always get on at Spurs, the midfielder was used, so the suggestion may not be completely ridiculous.
However, Roma would struggle to cover the player’s wages, and he’s ‘not a first choice’ for them right now. Even if they did decide to make a move for Ndombele, it’s made clear any switch could only be on a loan basis.
