With the transfer window in Turkey closing on Friday, a few clubs are trying to get some last minute deals over the line, including Fenerbahçe, who are looking at Aston Villa’s Leander Dendoncker.
It was recently stated the Süper Lig club had the 28-year-old as a plan B option if they failed to get a deal done for SC Braga’s Al-Musrati.
That came from Sabah, and now Takvim bring the latest about the situation, and reveal a bit more information about how the Aston Villa player became a target for Fenerbahçe.
It’s explained that Dendoncker was ‘offered’ to the Turkish side by agents, and the fact he isn’t playing under Unai Emery immediately caught their attention.
So far, he has featured for 21 minutes, which is far from what the player will be wanting, and there has been talk that he ‘could be loaned’ to Fenerbahçe.
What also ‘attracted the attention’ of those in charge of the Turkish club is the fact the Aston Villa player, who was signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers from €15m a year ago, hasn’t been injured much.
They explain to their readers that the versatile midfielder’s last injury came in December 2020, which was a knock that kept him out of action over the Christmas period through to January 11th 2021.
