Portuguese side Sporting are expected to make a new attempt for the signing of Liverpool youngster Rafael Camacho, according to newspaper O Jogo today.

The outlet says the Lions had been waiting while the player’s staff had talks with English and Italian sides.

Since both negotiations weren’t successful, Sporting feel like they have another chance to sign Camacho, and will try to use their good relationship with Liverpool to find a deal.

The clubs are set to face each other in pre-season, and the Portuguese side want to use the friendship as a strategy to have an advantage in the talks.

It’s recalled that Rafael Camacho was ‘one step’ from joining Sporting back in January. O Jogo also mentions that even though Jurgen Klopp didn’t fulfil his promise of giving the winger more playing time, the 18-year-old behaved well and even praised the manager afterwards.

But now Camacho has decided he wants to move to a club where he can play more, and Sporting hope they can help him with that. It’s said the Lions won’t get in a crazy auction, but they can make some efforts to land the player.
