After Barcelona agreed a deal with Ajax for Frenkie de Jong, the midfielder’s teammate Matthijs de Ligt has been heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou.
The 19-year-old is one of the most talented centre-backs in the Netherlands and his impressive displays have seen him draw attention from several clubs across Europe, including the Blaugrana.
De Ligt is represented by Mino Raiola and journalist Miguel Rico, writing on the last page of today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo, claims the super-agent will make a trip to Barcelona.
Xavi Simons, a Barcelona youngster, is represented by Raiola and the teenager will turn 16 in April.
The agent will arrive soon in Barcelona to negotiate a contract for Simons and during that meeting, he will also talk about De Ligt.
Rico claims that Barcelona ‘do not know’ the intentions of Raiola because they are not aware of anything that cannot be resolved over the telephone.
Simons future at Barcelona looks relatively secure, regardless of what happens with De Ligt.
