Over the past couple of days, the idea that Manchester United could sign Adrien Rabiot has grown quite a lot.
After all, the Red Devils need more men in midfield, and with Frenkie de Jong saga appearing to still be stuck, other avenues need to be explored.
There appears to be a feeling that a deal for Rabiot can be struck quite easily, at least with Juventus, and a lot has been made about the expected talks between Manchester United and the player’s mother and agent, Véronique Rabiot.
Well, Gazzetta dello Sport make it clear that ‘the first signs of appreciation for the United hypothesis have already arrived’ from the player, which is why his family representative ‘will listen to the offer with interest’.
Rabiot is intrigued at the prospect of playing in the Premier League, and while there are a number of matters to still discuss, such as his wage, it’s a good start.
Manchester United certainly cannot offer him Champions League football, and that’s why ‘he could ask for a rich bonus linked to qualification for the competition the following year’.
Right now, Juventus ‘are waiting’, but they are ‘also in a hurry to close’ a deal, as Rabiot’s exit would allow them to turn their attention to Leandro Paredes and free some space in both the squad and the wage budget to sign him.
