The transfer of Raphinha from Leeds United to Barcelona will have a new round of talks this week, according to claims from the Brazilian media.

UOL today writes that the winger’s agent, Deco, travelled to Spain at the weekend and is now ready to manage the developments ‘in person’.

The report claims that Barcelona have ‘decided to verbally close’ a deal for Raphinha as soon as possible, handing him a five-year contract.

The Catalan side, however, are still to place an official bid, while Leeds United already warned them they won’t negotiate the player’s exit for less than £40m.

According to UOL, the talks between Barcelona and Raphinha have been taking place ‘for weeks’ and are now ‘advanced’.

Now as the Catalan side try to work with Leeds for a deal, they could have a boost in case of the Whites’ relegation to the Championship, in which case a transfer would be cheaper and easier.

Leeds United, however, obviously have other plans.
