Sampdoria’s Dennis Praet is one of the midfielders attracting interest from clubs in Italy and across Europe.
AC Milan and Arsenal are believed to be included in the list of the clubs chasing the 25-year-old.
On June 7th, we carried a report from Tutto Mercato Web, who claimed the Gunners are interested in the Belgium international and his club teammate Joachim Andersen.
Sampnews24.com further explained the north London club submitted a €42m bid for Praet and the Danish centre-back, but the Serie A side turned down Arsenal’s approach for the duo.
Italian website Calciomercato conducted an interview with Praet’s representative Martin Riha, who stressed his client is ready to take the next step in his career.
“Dennis is a complete player and ready to move to a top club,” Riha said.
When asked if Arsenal are interested in the player, the agent stressed: “I don’t want to say more now, I think you can understand.”
Nudge, nudge, wink wink.
Praet, who was largely used as a central midfielder last season, has two years left on his contract at Sampdoria. His agent stressed “there is interest” in the Belgian and a decision on the latter’s future will be taken “within a few weeks”.
