Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has been a fan of talking to the media and discussing the Chelsea star every time he’s given a platform.

Over the past few months, the representative hasn’t publicly talked about the midfielder. That, however, changed when he gave an interview to Calciomercato.it, after the Blues sealed a berth in the Champions League quarter-final.

The 30-year-old’s current deal expires in 2023 and Santos stated his client’s “priority will be a renewal” at the west London club. Jorghino has been linked to Juventus, but the agent admitted he has not held talks with the Turin club.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are pitted against Real Madrid in the last eight of the Europe’s elite club competition. After the draw on Friday, Santos gave another interview, this time to Si gonfia la rete’s Raffaele Auriemma.

“Chelsea-Real Madrid in the Champions League? I think the reigning champions shouldn’t be surprised. The first match is in London and this is a benefit [to Chelsea],” Santos said.

The ex-Napoli man’s agent also talked about the Brazil-born Italy international’s chances of returning to Serie A.

“Juventus next season? Since he was with Sarri there has been talk of Juve, but at the moment Chelsea can’t move anything on the market. We have to see what happens,” he explained.

“Obviously, Juventus are an important team at European level, we must see. He arrived in Italy when he was 15, obviously he would like to come back one day. He is now focused on the national team because we have to go to the World Cup.”

As things stand, Chelsea cannot make new additions in the transfer market because of the sanctions imposed by the UK government on their owner, Roman Abramovich. Santos is of the belief the issues around the European champions will be sorted out soon.

“What is the climate inside the club after the Abramovich sanctions? The players respond on the pitch, obviously I think the problem will be solved in no time. We only think about the next matches,” the agent added.

“There is serenity, in England they are thinking of a solution. We hope that the difficulties are overcome.”
