Diego Costa is finally set to return to Europe, after a series of false claims, Marca reckon this time it’s true and the Spanish international will be ending his three month holiday in Brazil.

Despite being happy to continually speak to the media, and provoke Chelsea from a distance, the striker has been rather less brave when it comes to facing up to his Chelsea situation.

Marca report that Costa has been so worried about having to return to Chelsea’s training ground, in any capacity, that his agent has been in talks with Chelsea to try and finally agree the player’s exit.

Chelsea aren’t budging and whilst Marca say a deal for Costa’s transfer to Atletico Madrid ‘should be closed this week’, they also believe it will be for around the headline figure of €60m.

How that’s made up of flat fee and bonuses is as yet unknown, with both clubs obviously trying to get things their way.

Regardless of when he signs for Atletico Madrid, Diego Costa won’t be able to play for the club until the January transfer window onwards, because of their registration ban.
