On Thursday evening, Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola featured an interview with agent Marcelo Robalino.
That chat was long enough to talk about many of the representative’s clients, and one of them is Manchester City fullback Yan Couto.
The 20-year-old joined Pep Guardiola’s side back in 2020, and since then, has been sent out on a few loans spells, now currently playing for Girona in Spain.
First asked if there’s any Brazilian club interested in signing Couto from Manchester City, Robalino said there have been no talks. And directly quizzed about Bahia City, who were recently taken over by the City Group, he claims there’s ‘zero chance’ that move could happen.
Jorge Nicola then asked the agent if he received the commission for Couto’s transfer in 2020. The representative said no, claiming Coritiba already lost that legal fight, and the Brazilian club will have to pay around 45% more for this delay.
That has nothing to do with Manchester City, with Robalino claiming the money from the Premier League side ‘arrived’, and it’s Coritiba who decided not to pay him for the biggest transfer the club has ever made.
The agent even revealed that Yan Couto had a transfer to Barcelona ‘signed’, and ended up moving to Pep Guardiola’s side for a lot more. According to Transfermarkt, the Citizens signed the player for €6m.
