Manchester City star Pablo Zabaleta has been tipped to leave the club this summer, with clubs in Serie A interested in signing him.
The Argentine defender has been linked to AS Roma in the past couple of months, but the latest reports suggest Inter Milan are also in the race to sign him.
On Thursday, Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have a couple of stories on Zabaleta.
The first one suggests Mancini is keen on a reunion with Zabaleta, and Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio will try to sign him as a ‘gift’ for Mancini.
Inter, however, face competition from AS Roma, and have finances to settle, so it’d be difficult for them to match his net wages of €3.5m per season.
AS Roma, on the other hand, have good relations with Manchester City, after conducting business for Edin Dzeko last summer.
Gazzetta say AS Roma has explored the possibility of signing Zabaleta, and his agent was seen in Rome yesterday.
Roma could offer Zabaleta a three-year contract, and it seems they lead the race to sign the Argentine, if we were to believe Gazzetta.
