The agent of Juventus midfielder Stefano Sturaro has confirmed Leicester City’s interest in his client are just rumours.
This week Sturaro has been linked with a move to the Premier League side.
Speaking to TuttoJuve, Carlo Volpi was asked to clarify the interest Sturaro is reportedly receiving from other clubs: “I’ve not spoken with any team and I have not received any communication from Juventus. It will be hard to sell in our league. Leicester, they are just rumours, like the ones with Wolfsburg.
“Stefano is liked abroad but I will not mention the names of the teams looking at him.”
Yesterday we covered reports from Italy that Leicester City have tabled a bid in the region of €13m to sign the Juventus player. It’s reported the Serie A champions would be prepared to sell Sturaro this summer but Leicester City would need to increase their offer to €20m.
There are claims that talks are expected between Leicester City and Juventus in order to get a deal done, but from Vopli’s comments this would seem unlikely.
Newcastle United have also been linked with the Italian in recent weeks.
Sturaro is contracted to Juventus until June 2021.
