Santos star Lucas Lima has been involved for the Brazilian national team this year, which obviously brings him to the attention of a wider audience.
Lima’s agent Edson Khodor has been speaking to Italian website Gazzamercato, and has claimed the 26-year-old rejected a move to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.
Khodor also claimed Paris-Saint Germain and Valencia are keen on Lima, and that it’d be difficult to reject a club like AC Milan. It’d be interesting to see if Crystal Palace revive their interest in Lima, with just one year left on his contract at Santos.
There were several reports towards the end of the transfer window about Crystal Palace approaches for Lima.
The story originated in South America and Lucas Sposito, Sport Witness’s man in Brazil, said at the time: ‘Crystal Palace’s offer is something of a curiosity in Brazil. That’s because Lucas Lima only had offers from Porto and China last year, so he hired Wagner Ribeiro to be his agent, who also works with Neymar and Lucas Moura. His intention was to get offers from big clubs such as Barcelona or Real Madrid, but it seems it’s not happening.
Despite having a bad season, Lucas Lima is a very intelligent and skilful midfielder who has shown a lot of good things in the last couple of years.’
