Earlier this month, Hirving Lozano’s former agent Alessandro Monfrecola admitted West Ham United or Aston Villa could be an option for the Napoli forward next season.

The 27-year-old has 12 months left on his current deal and reports in Italy have already talked about the possibility of him changing clubs in the summer window.

Monfrecola has given another interview, this time to Radio Punto Nuovo, and talked about West Ham and Aston Villa interest in the player. His comments are relayed by Mondo Napoli.

There have been rumours of interest from Saudi Arabia in the Mexico international. His former intermediary has now shared his views on these links.

“I was surprised by Saudi Arabia’s interest in Lozano. Even in Mexico they are, everyone is convinced that the boy would have left Napoli only for the Premier League, now they are perplexed by the news,” he said.

“This is also because Mexico have to prepare for the next competitions, so the fans hope at least that Lozano will stay at Napoli.

“However, I remain skeptical of the excessive power and appeal of the Arabs in football, given that they had tried to do the same in MLS and football did not take off there. The economic part is important, but that’s not everything in the world of football yet.”

Monfrecola also explains why the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa would find it hard to sign Lozano in this window.

“West Ham and Aston Villa have shown interest in Lozano, but it seems to be a timid interest. Lozano has always dreamed of clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United, so I don’t think he can be very attracted to them [West Ham and Villa],” Monfrecola explained.

Earlier this month, Il Mattino reported Lozano could be on his way out of Napoli as there’s no option o renew his deal. It was also stated David Moyes’ side have been following the player for a while and his contract situation could favour them to carry out a deal.

Lozano has managed four goals and four assists from 41 games in Napoli’s title winning season.
