The agent of Cagliari forward Marco Borriello has told the Italian media he hasn’t ruled out a move for his client in the next window. The former AC Milan player has just under six months left on his contract with the Serie A side, and has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

TMW have reported on comments Andrea D’Amico made when asked about the future of Borriello. D’Amico said things can change in football even though the player is currently happy at Cagliari. Borriello’s agent believes in the summer there will be plenty of interest in the former Italy international due to his contract situation.

“Staying in Cagliari? In football you never know, but Marco has found an ideal place for him. I think at the end of this season many will call me. Fans of Cagliari love him, both as a player and as a man,” said Borriello’s agent.

During the last window we covered claims from Italy that Leeds United were looking at the possibility of signing Borriello, with owner Massimo Cellino prepared to raid his former club. The attacker has been in impressive form for the Serie A side this season following his move in the last summer transfer window. Leeds United boss Garry Monk could look to strengthen his attacking options in the next window, and the Italian is an option.

Borriello has the option to extend his contract with Cagliari if they remain in Serie A, but given his form this season there’s likely to be interest from other clubs this summer.
