Ezequiel Schelotto has hardly featured regularly for Brighton & Hove Albion since joining them from Sporting in 2017.

The right-back’s current deal at The Amex runs down on June 30th and there’s a possibility his contract will be extended beyond June, if the season is extended due to the global health crisis.

Having appeared as a guest on an Italian show, the 30-year-old admitted he doesn’t want to close the door on any options available in the upcoming window.

The Italy international spent four years at Atalanta between 2009 to 2013 and there have been rumours about the Serie A club being interested in acquiring his services on a free transfer.

Alessandro Grigoletto, the player’s agent, has responded to these claims during an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb.

“He is very attached to Atalanta. In 2011, he said La Dea [Atalanta’s nickname] would deserve Europe, he already knew everything. He would have fun under Gasperini. There are clubs that have been looking for us, but not Atalanta yet. We’ll see,” Grigoletto explained.

The report’s headline has a quote from the representative stating “Atalanta welcome destination” for Schelotto, but that’s not mentioned specifically within the story.

In addition to this, Grigoletto didn’t reveal details of those clubs who are looking at the Brighton fullback.
