The Dutch media has some news on the future of Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Joey Pelupessy.
Considering that the Owls are in a tough fight against relegation to League One, outlet Tubantia wonders if the 27-year-old would stay or leave the Championship side at the end of the season.
Their report highlights that Sheffield Wednesday are forbidding players speaking to the press this week. Still, they managed to have a word with his agent, who revealed that a move may be on the cards this summer.
“There is interest in Joey,” agent Revien Kanhai told Tubantia.
“From, among others, the Netherlands and from the English Championship.”
Tubantia adds that Revien Kanhai could not name the clubs who are involved in the race for the signing.
Joey Pelupessy joined Sheffield Wednesday in a €500k deal from Heracles Almelo back in 2018, and has a contract running until the end of this season.
Now as he’s close to becoming a free agent, the outlet adds that the Owls had shown their interest in keeping the player in the past, but there’s ‘uncertainty’ regarding a renewal, especially due to the potential relegation.
