There’s been several claims in the Italian media over past few weeks, discussing the possibility of Malick Thiaw leaving AC Milan for Newcastle United this summer.
Two days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated the Magpies will raise their stakes with a new offer to sign the defender.
On Sunday, the same outlet explained that there’s confidence over the 22-year-old moving to Newcastle in this window, and claims in the UK too everything a step further.
Speaking to Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger, the Germany international’s agent, Gordon Stipi, insists that there’s no truth in recent reports claiming his client is joining the Premier League side.
“The current reporting about my client Malick Thiaw in connection with a possible transfer to Newcastle United is false and incorrect. Therefore, I will not comment on any further rumours,” he said.
That doesn’t mean Newcastle have no interest in the former Schalke man. According to the reporter, Eddie Howe’s side are ‘still very interested’, and have presented their project to the centre-back.
At this moment in time, there’s no agreement between Newcastle and the player, and he has also not made a decision on his future.
Thiaw joined the Serie A side in 2022. Berger says he’s happy with his life at the San Siro and the German can see himself staying at the club next season.
